I'm Mehmet Bulgun, a lifelong traveller and storyteller rooted in the sun-soaked neighbourhood of Narlidere, just west of İzmir. I've spent the better part of two decades criss-crossing this extraordinary country — from the volcanic valleys of Cappadocia and the marble ruins of Ephesus to the wild Black Sea highlands and the spice-scented bazaars of Gaziantep — and I'm convinced that Turkey rewards the curious like nowhere else on earth.
I started this blog because too many travel guides reduce Turkey to a handful of postcards. I wanted to document the real thing: the tiny family-run pensions, the exact bus you need to reach a hidden cove, the dish you absolutely must order at a particular truck-stop köfte joint outside Bursa. This is practical knowledge mixed with genuine love for a place — written by someone who lives it, not just visits it.
